Warm-Up: What Slows You Down in Lectures?
Quick discussion: when you listen to a lecture in English (in person or on YouTube), what's harder than reading a textbook? Common answers:
- Can't go back and re-read.
- The speaker goes off on tangents (jokes, anecdotes) before returning to the point.
- Accents and speed.
- Specialist vocabulary you've never seen written down.
The questions only test the main points. If the speaker mentions a piece of information that doesn't appear anywhere in your questions, it's probably a side comment — let it go.
